Thu 25 Jan, 2007 13:02

According to a recent reliability survey carried out by Warranty Direct, Mazdas suffer fewer mechanical faults than any other make of car.

The survey took into account 450,000 cars from 33 different manufacturers and found that only 8% of Mazdas between three and nine years old had ever suffered any mechanical failures. In fact, the eight most reliable marques were Asia-based with the top three being Mazda, Honda (8.9% mechanical failure rate) and Toyota (15.7%).

Worst performers were Land Rover and Jeep with nearly 45% of three to nine year old models developing mechanical faults. Out of the 33 brands surveyed Nissan was 7th most reliable, Mini 9th, Porsche 16th, BMW 18th and Audi was 21st.
