GAZ rules out Jaguar

The Russian company GAZ, which had been linked with a bid for Jaguar, has publicly ruled it out.

Speaking to industry website just-auto.com, a spokeswoman said the company was only interested in commercial vehicles and powertrains (i.e. engines and gearboxes) and would not bid for Jaguar.

If Jaguar is to be sold to another car company (which is by no means certain), it would appear that Hyundai may now be the front-runner - unless the acquisitive Chinese show an interest.
